Super sensitive rod with backbone for big fish as well. Have been pounding the walleye with this rod. It is the first rod in my hand every day I hit the water for walleye!
Bought this rod for a drop shot rod for bass. The sensitivity of this rod is amazing, but has plenty of backbone to handle the big fish!
Using as a crossover rod for finesse bass fishing I am blown away with the sensitivity and perfect action of the 7’4” ML Fast for Dropshot and finesse jig and minnow presentations!
As a multi species guide I look for versatility from the rods I have in my boat and I’ve been very impressed with what Vexan has been putting out in their walleye rod series. I prefer their 7’-7’4” rods in all actions, but the 7’4” MF has to be my favorite rod in the line up. As it handles most presentations I throw with it beautifully. From tight-lining plastics, to snap jigging, slip bobbers, jig and a minnow, pretty much everything except real heavy weight presentations like traps it’ll handle with a supple tip and a strong back bone. The 7’ medium pretty much picks up the rest of the slack for heavier presentations and jerk bait fishing. Not only do I fish walleye on these sticks, but bass as well. I should also mention that, that 7’4” MF is an awesome hair jig rod for smallmouth. If you’re a finesse smallmouth guy, you might wanna seriously consider ordering one. Anyways I hope you find this review helpful, I think you’ll be happy with whatever rods you end up ordering!
I've been using the 7'4 M for a couple of seasons now, it is definitely my do all walleye rod. From jig/minnow, lindy rigging and slip bobbers to snap jigging rattle baits, this is my go to walleye rod. These rods are extremely light weight, comfortable and the most sensitive rods I've used. The 7'4 ML actually makes an incredible high end crappie rod, it's my go to when I'm chasing crappies.
